Two Strikes and a Foul

I'm talking about Chanel. I purchased three products from Chanel last year and only one is good but I wouldn't recommend purchasing it. First was the Jade nail polish (click here for the post) and the second was the Mat Lumiere Foundation (no post yet - it may be brutal). The third purchase was the charm but it's not the 'OMG, best thing ever!' for the price (but it should be or maybe I'm just asking too much...it is just face powder).

It's Chanel's Poudre Universelle Libre.

It's nice enough. I like the packaging. My face feels silky and soft after applying it. It sets my foundation. It's a loose powder. It will last for ages even though it's just one measly ounce. I just can't recommend this because of the price. There has got to be budget-friendly choices in the finely milled, loose powder market.

Granted, you won't get the wonderful branded linking 'C' in white on black but who really cares. Mine never leaves my bathroom. I mean this thing is way to bulky and unwieldy to whip out of your purse to impress those jealous girls if that's your thing. Save your money for the compact or the lipstick or not and learn from my mistake. Be a bit more frugal...just walk away from that Chanel counter. Unless it's perfume, then by all means, spend, spend, spend!!:)

HEY :)
I have this one and like it, yes very expensive as everything from Chanel.
I think I will buy from them for ever, yes I love the C logo more then the price tag, but...
Well, what can I say
Anyway did you tried the VitaLumiere compact powder?
You need try that one, just amazing and the VitaLumiere foundation!!! OMG!!! Amazing for medium coverage, so fresh and light, Love it.

By the way... should I buy Peculiere? Yes or NO, lol
This is my dilema this week, I'm having a very superficial week, lol

Gail,
The foul would be the powder...the ball was in the air but no home run so to speak. The other strike may be the Mat Lumiere. I can't seem to get it to work well with my skin. I've been working with it off and on for about five months. I'm about to give up. I love a bit a Chanel as well but I think I'll stick to their perfume for awhile:)
Have a great time at the IMATS! So jealous and wish I could be there in person to support you during Enkore's presentation!!xx

Hi Gabriela!
Thanks for recommending the Vitalumiere compact. I will definitely put this on list to try.

I love the color of Particuliere. I was looking at images online and thought it may be close to Rimmel;s Steel Gray (which is not gray but a lavender taupe in the MetroChic family) or Sally Hanson's CommanderInChic, but it seems that Chanel's is more of a true taupe with just a hint of lavender, more brown. It is pretty and such a great color. Why not? You're probably not going to find an exact dupe - although OPI may have something? Hope all is well with you!xx
