I Gave It A Go: Lisa Eldridge's Quick Smokey Eye (and yea...I'm back)

I hope all is well for everyone. I've been more of a voyeur in the beauty community rather than a participant for the first part of this year due to my Father's poor health. He moved back to his home over the Christmas holidays and my weekends are spent with him. He is doing much better and I'm glad to be back. Fingers crossed all will continue go well and I'll have some time to contribute more to this blog.
So, with that said I've tried a look I'd like to share.
It's from Lisa Eldridge's Youtube channel. I just used colors from my collection that are similar. I don't usually go this heavy but I think this is why I was drawn to it - completely different for me. I quite like it and just wish I had more appropriate events that would warrant such a look!

From a few feet away I look a bit like a raccoon. I don't think I'm used to having on so much eye makeup. However, close-up it's a nice look..Hmmmm....will have to try around others - preferably close, non-judgemental friends.

Here you can see a bit of the cheek color I used. I've added text of the brand and color to the photo below.

Products used....

Some new stand-outs in my collection is the purple blending sponge from Sonia Kashuk. Not so stand out when flash photography is being done is the Revlon Photo-Ready. I sparkle like the top of the Empire State Building. Really, I just look like a greasy hot mess:(
The Becca brushes are amazing. I highly recommend these. Super soft and well made. Very much worth the $$$.

Have a wonderful weekend and if you're in the States a great Memorial Day! Happy BBQ!:)

I love the color of your eyes! Your eye makeup is great too hun. I don't think it's too heavy. A lot of girls nowadays wear smokey eyes even for daytime.

Lots of love,

Thank you Golden! Very kind of you to say. I wish I were a girl but I'm in my thirties now! If I were back in my 20s I would wear it more often! I think I just need to get used to seeing myself with it on - kind of like wearing red lipstick.

It's so lovely to see you back blogging! But yes, spending time with your Dad is much much more important.

Love the eye makeup. Surely it doesn't look raccoon-like! Beautifully-applied makeup on beautiful eyes, I say. :)
